Sure you could buy a nice, classy case designed specifically for home made DVRs. But that’s not enough for some people. Check out these amazing case mods that HTPC owners like you came up with.
1. SNES Case
Drop an entire DVR into a Super Nintendo? That’s what Mediaportal user Lotus is doing. He’s replacing the controller ports with USB and has managed to use the original SNES power switch. Follow his progress in the Mediaportal forums.
2. VCR Case
What could be more ironic than hiding away a powerful HTPC in an old school VCR? It even lights up appropriately and uses the tape slot as a DVD tray.
3. Lego Case
Finally we have a computer case built entirely out of Lego! Not a case surrounded by Lego, mind you, but an actual Lego structure. Amazing. Although not the best fit for the living room (at least for my living room), it would make a fantastic kid’s DVR.
